Trust this Rage Comic and avoid the Brian Herbert/Kevin J. Anderson Dune novels

I've never read any of the Dune novels birthed from the hellish abyss by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, but the general consensus in the nerd community is that they are godawful. Brian Herbert is like Christopher Tolkien, the son of J.R.R. Tolkien, he's in it for the money. Anderson will pretty much write anything if there's a paycheck involved, so there's no surprise there. Basically, stick with the original Dune novels and avoid the post-Frank Herbert ones like the goddamn plague.
