Death comes to Agents of Shields. No wait, Deathlok comes to Agents of Shields. DeathLOK.

So as you’ve probably heard or just read in the title, Marvel’s cyborg (one of them at least), Deathlok is going to be on Agents of Way Too Many Periods. The thing is, he’s already been on the show a couple of times before. This will be a new version of the Deathlok - J. August Richard’s Mike Peterson. This makes plenty of sense, considering Peterson’s recent predicament. The last we saw him (unless he appeared in that episode that I missed), Peterson was a captive/forced agent of Centipede after being nearly blown to pieces at the end of "The Bridge" and suffering from severe burns and missing a leg, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’ll be turned into a cyborg. I think Mike Peterson might be the first incarnation of Deathlok not to be living brain inside a cyborg’d corpse.

I’ll admit that when I first heard about Peterson being Deathlok, I was briefly disappointed because I hoped it was going to be Michael Collins, the third incarnation of Deathlok. He was the incarnation that I was first introduced to. But only briefly. Using Peterson works better in this case, since it continues the main plot and is a logical progression for the character.

I think it’s awesome that Marvel is using Deathlok at all, they’re (there have been like five, I think) not exactly an A-List character. I think they’re barely D-List. It hopefully opens the door for Marvel to use other less well known characters on television and in the movies.
