I know I'm a bit late in posting about this, but I rarely go to Google's homepage. The doodle is in honor of Gideon Sundbäck, a Swedish engineer who helped develop the modern zipper. I really dig how Google will do these doodles in honor of people who are largely unknown in today's world.
