Spider-Man might want to lay off the Hostess Fruit Pies.

Much like the evidence concocted by Elim Garak and Benjamin Sisko to trick the Romulans into entering the Dominion War on the side of the Federation, this cover is unfortunately fake. It was created by Kerry Callen as part of a series of showing what it would look like if DC Comics published some of Marvel's titles. It really encapsulates the zany and often times batshit insane stories that the former put out back during the Silver and Bronze Ages. Check out the rest here.

Now for a confession: Up until today, I thought this was the cover to an actual Spider-Man comic. It wasn't until I was about to post it here that I finally noticed the DC Comics logo. A quick reverse image search on Tineye turned up this Buzzfeed article. In my defense, though, it wouldn't be surprising to see Spidey like that, given the number of ads Hostess Fruit Pie adds he was in back in the day.
