The GE Great Awakening Computer Radio is smarter than you

(via The Retroist's Facebook)
Well, at six in the morning, anything is going to be smarter than me. Love the faux wood grain that electronics used to have back in the day. It's much nicer than the standard solid black that most consumer electronics have nowadays. I would love to find one of these to use.

  1. I got this awesome clock radio "The Great Awakening" for Christmas back in 1981. Although it was pretty big it was surprisingly light with the help of the faux wood grain. I traveled around the world with this clock radio, it wouldn't keep the correct time while stationed in Incirlik, Turkey because of the different hertz. It worked great through assignments in Missouri, Turkey, Oklahoma, S. Korea, Miami, Tampa, S. Korea again, and finally died in Panama(the country) in 1994. This was back when G.E. was king and they made decent electronics, man this was a terrific product and yes, you can find them restored on Ebay.
